Social media is more or less a momentary escape from the chaos in life and a source of hope that good times do exist.
I believe that good times are seen everywhere.
We often say 'I don't have time' - yet we do have the time to look for the meaning of life by scrolling through a cell-phone screen.

ABOUT
Create a zine with pictures of people escaping to social media to experience the moment. This would be used as an awareness campaign to make people more aware of their online behaviour.
PERFORMANCE
IDEAS
Create a 'realistic' online movement fe an instagram page which captures human interaction, to make even people who're mainly online get more aware that looking down on your screen isn't what it's all about.

QUESTION
At the Markthal and Blaak I photographed and observed the online behaviour of people.
I talked with people on the train about nonsense. It was much greater than scrolling the whole time.
I'm from Drenthe/Groningen myself, where small talk is considered very important.
Go to a lively place and sit down holding a cardboard saying 'I've got time - let's talk'
I believe that good times can be achieved within every place or situation. For example: People seem to get in contact when the power shuts off at Amsterdam Centraal.
'It's not the places you visit, it's the people you meet - only then you get to experience why living is so great - it's to capture the moment of interaction between the people.
Create a tool for places where people are being sucked in by social media fe train stations, bus, or even social gatherings, which motivates people to make the small move by simply saying 'hi'.
SOME PICTURES I TOOK
What makes people look up from their phone to take in actual life that happens around of us?
or; What makes people realise that online content is not as genuine 'happy' as it seems?
